Moving to or from Sardinia? We have regular removals to Sardinia, servicing all of your Italy relocation needs. Matthew James’ removals to Sardinia range from dedicated removals to shared-loads, or even single items.

A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.

How it works

If you’ve ever sent a parcel abroad or bought something from overseas, you’ll know that customs clearance is a difficult-to-navigate minefield, and costs can quickly add up.
That’s why our professional in-house team of customs handlers is ready to help you with everything you need for a stress-free shipping experience. Our experts have in-depth knowledge of specific customs laws from each country, helping you dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s on your paperwork and ensuring your shipment arrives safely.
Plus, our Dartford HQ became a fully customs-bonded facility in early 2023, meaning we can safely store your belongings in our own warehouse and keep track of them throughout the entire shipping process. You’re in safe hands with Matthew James.

Located in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, Sardinia is a vast Italian island boasting over 2,000km of beautiful coastline. But it is not only Sardinia’s endless sandy beaches, secretive coves and peaceful bays that make it a magical place to live. Sardinia also has a verdant, rugged landscape with stunning mountain ranges perfect for hiking and even boasts seven national parks and protected marine areas. Sardinia’s natural beauty is a daily feast for the eyes and a perfect place to relocate if you love exploring, diving and generally enjoying the great outdoors.
As with the mainland of Italy, Sardinia shares its world-renowned reputation for amazing rustic food. However, Sardinian cuisine does have a taste all of its own, heavenly influenced by centuries of different cultures inhabiting the island. Each of Sardinia’s regions has its own unique culinary tradition, especially when it comes to delicious pasta dishes. Living in Sardinia will allow you complete access to experience these delicacies and perhaps even inspire you to get more creative in the kitchen!
Even for a country as rich in history and culture as Italy, nowhere is more diverse and interesting than Sardinia. From pottery to textiles, festivals to carnivals, life in Sardinia is never dull. Couple this with a lively and welcoming expat community and you have the perfect balance of Mediterranean flair and cosmopolitan charm. As ever, learning Italian and your local dialect will be an invaluable advantage to living in Sardinia.
Sardinia has excellent travel infrastructure giving you the choice of 3 airports to fly in and out of. Olbia in the northeast, Alghero in the northwest and the capital city Cagliari in the south all have regular flights connecting Sardinia to most major European and international cities. Modern and reliable ferries connect the Sardinia to Italy, France and Spain from several port towns on the island’s coast. As Sardinia is part of Italy and therefore within the EU, citizens from the UK and other EU or EEA can live and work in Sardinia visa-free. For more information on moving to Sardinia please read the UK government’s guide to living in Italy here.
