A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.
European Dedicated Service
A dedicated service gives you the flexibility to choose your collection and delivery dates. This service guarantees the Matthew James service of excellence and peace of mind that your moving dates can be fixed, allowing you the convenience to make travel arrangements and plan your arrival. All delivery dates are subject to EU laws on driving time. We can confirm the timing prior to any booking.
European Premium Service
A direct service combines Matthew James’ service of excellence with the added advantage of a dedicated collection date and express delivery timescale. Handling of your effects is minimised as they remain on the same vehicle throughout. Although your delivery will be carried out in conjunction with other clients consignments, this means you will share the cost of the vehicle and your consignment will be prioritised for onward delivery typically within 7-10 days of collection.

Salaries tend to be lower in Barcelona then many other European cities, despite the rise in the cost of living. Many Barcelonians are well versed in English, but it is important to remember that the locals speak either Spanish or Catalan and some knowledge of both will put you at an advantage when looking for work, especially if you have a third language like German, as there is a lot of foreign investment in the city. If you arrive in the city without a work contract, then English tutoring is an excellent alternative whilst you are finding your feet.

Reasons to relocate to Barcelona
Public transport in Barcelona is as much as you would expect from a major European city. It’s efficient, affordable, well-maintained and safe. The central train stations are all very accessible, and can take you across Catalan, Spain, and internationally. The metro is also easy to navigate, and will get you from A to B without too much trouble. Drivers still face heavy congestion (even though many expats find driving in Barcelona easier than in other cities). There are over 100 bus routes as well, so all combined, getting around Barcelona is a breeze.
There is plenty of variety when it comes to finding a neighbourhood to suit your needs. Pedralbes is an elegant residential area in Les Corts with green, open spaces. Owning a car is recommended as public transport links aren’t as developed here than in central locations. Sarria is the Sauria-Sant Gervasi district is pleasant and open, with loads of parks, and more affordable accommodation. Tres Torres in the north-west corner is some way outside the city centre, and has excellent bus networks. St Gervasi is one of the most central districts in the city, with unlimited shopping possibilities and access to other city locations, many from walking distance. St. George, Highlands School, and the British School are all great options for international education.
You’ll never get bored in Barcelona. Visit the iconic architecture in Park Güell, visit the yet unfinished Sagrada Familia cathedral, take in the divers animals at the Aquarium, or take a hop-on hop-off bus to see all the sights. Being a beach city, there are always water sporting options to take advantage of, like taking a 6 hour Costa Brava kayak and snorkel tour. You can also get unique views of the city on the recently refurbished Montjuïc Cable Car or get your adrenalin rush at the Tibidabo Amusement Park.
