Moving to Granada? We offer weekly removals to Granada and all of the Costa Tropical from the UK! From full relocations to single items, dedicated or shared-load services.
Let Matthew James take the stress out of your move to or from Granada.

A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.

How it works

If you’ve ever sent a parcel abroad or bought something from overseas, you’ll know that customs clearance is a difficult-to-navigate minefield, and costs can quickly add up.
That’s why our professional in-house team of customs handlers is ready to help you with everything you need for a stress-free shipping experience. Our experts have in-depth knowledge of specific customs laws from each country, helping you dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s on your paperwork and ensuring your shipment arrives safely.
Plus, our Dartford HQ became a fully customs-bonded facility in early 2023, meaning we can safely store your belongings in our own warehouse and keep track of them throughout the entire shipping process. You’re in safe hands with Matthew James.

Upon your first contact, you will be allocated your own Move Manager who will oversee your move from start to finish. This give you a personal touch and helping you with anything you may need along the way.

With Ann, in her 80s, completing day-to-day quality assurance checks, Matthew and his sister Rachel as directors overseeing the smooth running of the operation, Owen, Matthew’s son on the frontline in Europe and, finally, Owen’s son Rowan showing a keen interest in trucks, the Matthew James passion is stronger than ever!

Estepona is one of the most up and coming towns on the Costa del Sol. It has everything you could want from a seaside town, the beautiful weather, relaxing lifestyle, gorgeous cuisine, with the added bonus that it is quieter than the other most popular cities on the southern Spanish Coast.
Most of the jobs in Estepona are based around the retail and hospitality sectors, but as with many costal cities along the south of Spain, there are opportunities in the property market as well (but a little knowledge of Spainish is required)! It does have to be said though that not having a strong grasp on the language will not hinder your employment options by too much, as many locals are able to communicate fluently in English. There are always schools looking for English Language teachers or businesses looking for translators if your Spanish is up to scratch.
At Matthew James Removals we offer regular services to and from Granada, throughout the year. From dedicated removals to shared-loads or even single items, we offer a service to meet your requirements. Our expertise, know-how, local knowledge and specialist vehicles make us the obvious choice for moving to Granada.
Our company has been accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. We are members of IAM (International Association of Movers), the world’s largest trade association for the global removals industry.
All of our depots in the UK and Spain offer fully containerised storage facilities in modern and secure warehouses. Shared-loads are consolidated at our depots in the UK and Spain for onwards transport to Granada and beyond.
We can arrange a bespoke insurance policy aligned with your Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum service, to ensure that your treasured possessions are covered in the unlikely event of an accident occurring. Please speak to your designated Move Manager who can guide you through this process and advise you accordingly.
Granada is very easy to get around on foot. Its compact size means that everything is in a short radius. There is a bus service covering the metropolitan area that runs from 07:00 – 23:00, and €41 will get you unlimited travel for a month. There is also a metro line connecting many of the neighbourhoods together, and if all else fails, taxis are reasonably priced. There isn’t a need for a car here as the city is small and not four-wheel friendly. The city is home to its own airport, so getting anywhere internationally or domestically isn’t an issue. Granada is also linked to Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla (among others) via train lines.
Accommodation prices are very reasonable when compared to other cities in Spain, and there is a wide range on offer to suit any kind of need. Albaicin is very popular with expats as it balances both modern and antique architecture, and is in great proximity to the city centre (about 15 minutes walk). This is not a flat neighbourhood however, so bear that in mind on really hot days. Time has stood still in Sacromonte, with its impromptu flamenco gatherings, and La Crus is the residential and working quarter that hosts incredible tapas bars. La Chana is 10 minutes bus ride from the centre, but is one of the most beautiful residential neighbourhoods in the city.
There is also plenty of things to do in such a vibrant city. The fortified palace of Alhambra is europe’s love letter to Moorish culture, and is one of the top attractions in the city. There are many ways to slip the cue with a selected ticket but it does get busy so book in advance. As mentioned, you just have to see a flamenco show in Sacromonte which starts around 21:00. Some offer just a show, but there are many where you can eat whilst watching this traditional, lively dance. Window shoppers will love the Calle Alcaicería market near the Cathedral de Granada, where anything from leather goods to spices can be bargained for.
At Matthew James Removals we have the local knowledge and industry experience to manage all of your relocation needs, wherever in Granada you choose to move. With 3 generations of experience, a customised vehicle fleet and frequent services, you can be sure you’re in the most capable hands in Granada.
