All delivery dates are subject to EU laws on driving time. We can confirm the timing prior to any booking.
European Premium Service
A direct service combines Matthew James’ service of excellence with the added advantage of a dedicated collection date and express delivery timescale. Handling of your effects is minimised as they remain on the same vehicle throughout. Although your delivery will be carried out in conjunction with other clients consignments, this means you will share the cost of the vehicle and your consignment will be prioritised for onward delivery typically within 7-10 days of collection.

Set on the banks of the Geneva River, Lausanne in Switzerland shares many commonalities with other popular Swiss cities. It is utterly beautiful, and the quality of life is among the highest in the world. What set’s this fine city apart, however, is that it is home to the International Olympic Committee! So as you can imagine, Lausanne loves its sports.
Unlike Zurich or Lucerne, Lausanne is in French speaking Switzerland, but the workforce is very multi-lingual, so there isn’t a need to stress too much about being able to speak the language (obviously there is an advantage to being able to speak either French or German). Financial services and company administration are big employers in the city, along with with established publishing companies. Even though there are plenty of jobs, it must be noted that since 2008 Lausanne has restricted the amount of expats that can live there. So the best way would be to move within a company if possible.

Reasons to relocate to Lausanne
Lausanne is the smallest city in the world to have a rapid transport system. The metro system includes 28 stations, and there are an efficient network of buses to make getting around the city a dream! The A1 road runs past the west side of the city connecting it to Geneva (as does the rail network), so driving is a viable option for all your travel need, even though it is not a common commuter option within the city itself.
Living space in Switzerland is generally smaller than in many other countries, and neighbourhoods run closely together. Therefore, privacy and respect of other’s are important to the Swiss. La Cité is the tourist district, so if you want to be in the middle of city life, then this your best bet. Obviously prices are going to be premium in this neighbourhood, but have the best of the city at your doorstep. Lausanne’s charm is on full display in Sous-Gare, a neighbourhood full of shops and cafe’s.
Education is Lausanne’s big draw for many expats making the move. Even though they come with a high price, the Swiss Group of International Schools offer world class education, and two of the 38 school are in or very close to Lausanne. The GEMS World Academy-Etoy is located between Geneva and Lausanne, and the Brilliantmont International School is located in the city centre.
Visiting the Collection de l’Art Brut is a must for cultural lovers, as it is the largest collection of the art movement in the world. No trip to the city would be complete without a visit to the Olympic Museum, which houses over three floors of Olympic history. You can also test to see if you are Olympic ready in the interactive exhibit on the top floor! When the sun comes out, take a walk around the Ouchy Promenade, which buzzes with families, a market, and public concert. You’d be missing out if you didn’t explore the city from the lake. Taking a boat from port Ouchy, and provides beautiful transport to Thonon-les-Baines or Geneva.
