Moving to Sotogrande? We offer removals to Sotogrande from the UK! From full relocations to single items, dedicated or shared-load services.
Let Matthew James take the stress out of your move.

A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.

How it works

If you’ve ever sent a parcel abroad or bought something from overseas, you’ll know that customs clearance is a difficult-to-navigate minefield, and costs can quickly add up.
That’s why our professional in-house team of customs handlers is ready to help you with everything you need for a stress-free shipping experience. Our experts have in-depth knowledge of specific customs laws from each country, helping you dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s on your paperwork and ensuring your shipment arrives safely.
Plus, our Dartford HQ became a fully customs-bonded facility in early 2023, meaning we can safely store your belongings in our own warehouse and keep track of them throughout the entire shipping process. You’re in safe hands with Matthew James.

Sotogrande is one of the most southerly tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol. Just across the border from Gibraltar, Sotogrande is known as an upmarket resort that attracts the rich and famous from all over the world. So if you fancy rubbing shoulders with the Spanish aristocracy, or taking in the annual international polo event, then this could be the place for you.
Many people living in Sotogrande work in the service industry, banking, or tourism. As the community is evolving, real estate is thriving, with opportunities to own or develop spaces popping up frequently. This development has also attracted those looking to start their own businesses. Sotogrande is also home to a wealthy marina, so the yachting industry is big business. There are also new schools appearing throughout the resort and surrounding areas, so teachers of all ages are in demand. There is no heavy reliance on being fluent in Spanish, as many of the residents and visitors are international. However, a knowledge of Spanish will put you ahead of other expats looking for work. Many locals also find work in nearby Gibraltar, and whilst the industries are very similar, this gives you more opportunities when finding work.

As Sotogrande as relatively small, there isn’t a big need for an extensive transport system in the city. There is a local bus service, but many people choose to walk, or if you are so inclined, there are plenty of car rental businesses. And driving might be the most attractive options, as there isn’t a local train service running into and out of the resort. There are many buses that also connect Sotogrande with other nearby resorts and destinations. The nearest airports are the Costa del Sol airport of Malaga and Gibraltar airport (which is closer, but runs fewer flight options).
As Sotogrande is intended to be a luxury resort, property prices are high, but interestingly the cost of living is quite low. There are many neighbourhoods surrounding the central resort that offer the advantages of Sotogrande without the heavy price tag. The Sotogrande International School is located in the La Reserva de Sotogrande neighbourhood, which also has a popular golf course and equestrian center. Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro is the main hub for residents all year round. Smaller villages nearby are San Henrique, San Martin, and Jima de la Frontera that are all beautifully Spanish and much more affordable. The area Is popular for those with children as crime in the region is very low.
What draws most of the international population is the sun. The average temperature in the summer is 28 degrees, and the general area of the Costa del Sol is world famous for its perfect weather. There are plenty of sporting options in the resort itself, such as Gold and water sports, but Sotogrande is also close enough to nearby attractions, such as Selwo which is the biggest Safari park in Europe with over 2,000 animals. The Rock of Gibraltar is 25 minutes drive away, and is the perfect day activity for all the family! The blue flag beach that Sotoqande is located on will entertain you all year round.
